This shows use of SS piano hinges for the battery cover and storage area on the starboard side. Keeps them from flipping up when you sit on the edge of the seat. Actually the picture doesn't show the battery cover (bad lighting). It fastens to the fiberglass liner instead of this two piece one forward of it. A latch on the front of this cover would lock the batteries down
