Running in to San Francisco Bay

This one is for mom. Under the Golden Gate Bridge.

7.2 knots on a reach just inside the Golden Gate Bridge. Just calibrated the knotmeter. It doesn’t look windy but it’s blowing about 20 knots. The water is flat due to the transisition from ocean waves to bay waves. 4 miles down  wind there is a nasty chop with white caps. Notice in the previous picture we were only making 5.4 knots.
